Are you a freelancer or independent contractor? QuickBooks Self-Employed is a great tool to help you stay prepared for tax time. It’s inexpensive (currently $10 a month), and it allows you to track all of the little things that are important to a freelancer.

You can track mileage on your phone with GPS, take photos of receipts from your expenses and save them online instead of a shoebox, send invoices right from your phone, and take payments that deposit directly into your bank account. It’ll even estimate your quarterly taxes.
The downside? You can’t upgrade to the higher versions directly from this app. You’d need to start all over again. If you’re planning on staying freelance, though, this is an amazing tool at a great price.
Do you need some help choosing the right software for your business? Let us know. You’ll want to consult with your accountant and find out what they recommend, but we can help you get signed up and set up and ready to work!
